Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 March 2026These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of VetNudge, operated by a sole proprietor based in South Africa. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use VetNudge.
1. Service Description
VetNudge is an AI-powered pet health triage assistant for dogs and cats. You describe your pet's symptoms and VetNudge asks targeted questions before issuing a triage level (Immediate, Emergent, Urgent, Semi-Urgent, or Non-Urgent) with recommended actions.
2. Not Veterinary Advice
Triage levels are informational guidance generated by an AI model. They are intended to help you decide how quickly to seek veterinary attention — not to replace a consultation with a licensed veterinarian. Always follow the advice of your vet. In an emergency, contact your nearest emergency veterinary clinic immediately.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering you represent that you meet this requirement.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must not share your account or allow others to access it. Notify us immediately at hello@vetnudge.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access.
5. Free Tier and Subscriptions
VetNudge offers a free tier of 3 triage sessions per calendar month. For unlimited sessions you may subscribe to VetNudge Unlimited at R29 per month.
Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing you authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method each billing cycle until you cancel.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. No partial-month refunds are provided.
6. Referral Programme
Each user receives a unique referral code. When a new user signs up with your code, both you and the new user receive bonus triage sessions. Abuse of the referral system (including creating fake accounts) may result in forfeiture of bonus sessions and account suspension.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use VetNudge for any species other than dogs and cats.
Attempt to extract medical diagnoses or prescriptions from the AI.
Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automated-access the service.
Submit abusive, illegal, or harmful content.
Create multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, design, and code comprising VetNudge are the property of the operator. You retain ownership of any data you submit (pet profiles, messages). By using the service you grant us a limited licence to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the service.
9. AI-Generated Content
Triage responses are generated by Anthropic's Claude AI. AI outputs may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any AI-generated content. You acknowledge that you use AI triage guidance at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, VetNudge and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to harm to your pet resulting from reliance on AI-generated triage guidance.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or R500, whichever is greater.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
VetNudge is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate.
12. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that harms the service or other users. You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@vetnudge.co.za. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
13. Service Availability
We aim to keep VetNudge available 24/7 but do not guarantee uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, infrastructure issues, or factors beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned maintenance.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website. Continued use of VetNudge after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
